[There's a long pause before he lets out a sigh. He's rather quiet as he and the puppy make their way through the castle to meet the redhead outside the large doors of the building. Once there, he slips the tome into his jacket's pocket while putting the dog down. Cassandra lets out an excited yip as she bounds around his legs and then pulls her lead so she can sniff at Eve's feet.]
[Eve was dressed to run, in a sports bra and tight leggings with
some very comfy leather shoes. She smiled and waved at Cullen but was all
eyes for the dog he had. Even before Eve became a werewolf she got along
well with dogs. Ever since being turned she got on even better except in
the rare cases when the dogs saw her as a threat. Since Cullen didn't act
like she was though his dog didn't either. Smiling she knelt down to get
more on the dog's level.]
Well hey there aren't you just best girl around, yes you are. Yes you are
such a good girl.
[The only sign that he's a little unused to her outfit is the slight reddening of his ears, but Cullen makes sure that his eyes don't stray too far or linger too long on her body. He's already aware that she's a beautiful woman and she's made no qualms about her own sexuality either.
However, the way that her attention narrows in on the adorable little Mabari pup is enough to make him like her a bit more. Cassandra was turning out to be a rather good judge of character through the amount of training he put her through.
One day she would catch a fireball!
At all the praise, she barks happily, her tongue hanging outside of her mouth as her tail wags viciously.]
I take it that you have a bond with dogs. Good. Yvette, this is Cassandra. Cassandra, this is Yvette.
[Another bark, almost as if the dog understands what Cullen is saying before she pads over to sniff Eve's legs and feet as if to say "pet me".]
Depends on the dog. Some of them are weirded out by my smell. But not you, are you Cassandra?
[Eve smiled and knelt down to give Cassandra all the pets and scritches that she wanted, the dog's handsome owner momentarily eclipsed by the puppy. Even as a puppy the dog had a barrel chest and the large paws that promised it would not stay little for long.]
What sort of dog is she? I don't think I've seen her type before.
[Cassandra is in heaven at all of the pets and scritches, bumping her head into Eve's hand as long as she will indulge the puppy.
Cullen lets the dog do as she wishes, knowing that at the sound of his voice, she will pull back and behave. The benefits of having an animal bred to be a well-behaved killing machine.]
She's from my world. Her breed is a Mabari Warhound. As the name implies, her breed is bred to fight beside their owners. More than one hero of Thedas had a Mabari at her side.
[Eve continued to give the dog all the attention before booping her nose against the dog's and standing up. If she didn't stop now they'd never go on their run. She could play with Cassandra another time.]
We should go hunting sometime. Me as a wolf with Cassandra and you... uh, standing there looking very handsome. You ready for the run though?
[Cassandra barks again, her hind quarters vibrating so much that she resembles a sausage cooking in a pan.
Cullen lets it go on. She's a dog worth spoiling, for the most part. Even as a pup, she's better behaved than some of the dogs he'd seen owned by the nobles of Kirkwall.]
I'm not much of a hunter, so I'd be useless for much more than standing there and directing. [He hardly even flushes at the compliment.] But I'm sure that Cassandra would appreciate the chance.
[He readjusts removes Cassandra's leash, making the puppy jump a few times and run around the two humans.]
It looks like she's ready to use up all of her energy now, but I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
Awesome! Why donโt you go ahead and set the pace?
[Eve wanted the run to be a reasonable run for him, it wouldnโt be enjoyable if she just sprinted off. Besides, she liked talking with him. Well, talking and flirting.]
Unless of course youโre just hoping to run behind me the entire way?
[He's about to get started running, puppy as ready as he is, when she says that.]
While I'm certain that the view would be enjoyable, I can assure you that I am not so obsessed with physical intimacy that I must have objects of desire thrown in my face all of the time. I assure you that they're not necessary.

It sounds to me that they got what they deserved, if we're honest.
[A small bark at his feet catches his attention and he picks up his mabari puppy.]
Is this trail dog safe as well?
no subject
That had better not be a bad joke.
Just kidding. It should be fine. I won't let anything happen to your puppy, I promise.

Yvette, meet Cassandra, my Mabari Warhound.

So youโre saying Iโm an object of desire? Good to know.
[She laughed and gave him a wink to let him know thatโs not all she got out of what he said. He did seem to imply that though.]
But Iโm ready when you are.
